It is a sad day here at Twicipe. The last two nights were the coldest May nights for 15 years. Our tomato plants did not survive the ground frost.

Luckily it was only the tomatoes that met a sticky end. The potatoes and strawberries are coming on nicely, and our first crop – Yugoslavian Lettuce – will be ready for harvest in a week. Expect plenty of home grown Twicipes.

Cocktails are popular Twicipes; they’re shortness, simplicity and few ingredients lend themselves to 140 character recipes. Sharing any recipe is a social activity but cocktails are particularly social as they are often consumed with friends in a relaxed environment.

In contrast my favourite cocktail is a Caparina, enjoyed alone in a sunny garden after a hard days work. My favourite Twitter mixologist is @HackaPhreaka.

St George’s Day

Out to local St George’s Day food evening at the fantastic Halsey’s Deli. Traditional English food made with local ingredients. Halsey’s are a great local business supporting people growing food on small scales which we believe is something to be encouraged. The food with simple, not-fussy and delicous.
